Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2, 2026
Dodgeballdle is developed and operated by a single curious developer. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your data. The short version: there are no accounts, no cookies, no analytics and no advertising — the only thing the game remembers about you is how you have done on its levels.
1. What We Collect
-
On-device Game Progress: Which stars you have found, how many runs you
have played on a level, whether sound is muted and whether stars are shown are stored in
your browser's
localStorage. Clearing this site's data in your browser deletes it. -
An Anonymous Player ID: The first time you finish a level, the server
mints a random identifier and your browser stores it as
dodgeballdle:playerId. It is not tied to a name, an email address or an account, and we never ask you for any of those. It exists only so your progress on one level connects to your progress on the next. Clearing your browser data forgets it, and you become a brand new player. - Run Submissions: When you win a level, the game sends the level, your player ID, the sequence of moves you made and how many runs you have played. Notably it does not send your score — the server replays your moves through the same rules engine the game runs and works the score out itself. What it keeps afterwards is one row per player per level: your best score, the stars you earned, your run count, and which revision of the level they came from.
- What we don't collect: No names, email addresses, passwords or accounts. No cookies. No analytics, advertising or tracking scripts of any kind. We do not store your IP address — as with any website, our hosting provider handles it in order to deliver the page to you, which is described below.
2. How We Use Your Data
- To remember your best score and which stars you have collected, so your progress survives a reload and can be shown back to you on the victory screen and the past-challenges calendar.
- To count the runs you have played on a level, which is a statistic shown only to you.
- To confirm a winning run is legitimate, by replaying the submitted moves server-side rather than trusting a score sent by the browser.
That is the whole list. We do not profile players, build audiences, or sell or share your data with anyone.
3. Third-Party Services
The game depends on a small number of services to run. These may process data in accordance with their own privacy policies.
- Cloudflare: Hosts and serves the game, including its domain and the code that answers the game's requests. Every request you make to Dodgeballdle passes through Cloudflare, which processes your IP address and request metadata to deliver the site and to protect it from abuse. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Neon: Hosts the database that holds the per-level progress rows described above. See Neon's privacy policy.
-
Google Fonts: The game's typeface is loaded from Google's font service,
so your browser requests it from
fonts.googleapis.comandfonts.gstatic.com. Google receives your IP address and browser details as part of that request. No cookies are set. See Google's privacy policy.
4. Data Retention
Your progress row is kept for as long as the game runs, because deleting it would delete your progress. On-device data lives in your browser until you clear this site's data, which you can do at any time without asking us.
You may request deletion of the server-side row at any time by emailing us. Because there
is no account to look you up by, include your player ID — you can find it in your browser's
developer tools under localStorage, as the value of
dodgeballdle:playerId.
5. Changes
This policy may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page, and the date at the top changes with them.
